- When will the program start?
- How many students apply to DM in one year? How many do you accept?
- Is it necessary to have computer knowledge/experience to apply to the DM program?
- What do I need to submit to be considered for admission?
The DM program begins every Fall semester. Georgia Tech's Fall semesters begin in mid-August. There are generally orientation meetings the week before school starts. Students are generally only admitted for Fall semester enrollment. Exact dates are posted in the Georgia Tech Academic Calendar.
About 25-30 students apply, and we enroll five new PhD students each year.
No, we have applicants from various backgrounds, ages, and cultures, with and without computer expertise. If you do have some experience with programming, it will give you a little bit of a head start as a student in the coursework; however, it is not as much an issue in the application process.
